Products We Have Helped Bring to Life
Every product on this page started as an idea. Some came to us as rough sketches. Some were already partially developed. Some were ready for manufacturing but needed the right partner to see them through. Each one required a different combination of design, engineering, IP strategy, and manufacturing expertise.
Due to confidentiality agreements with many of our clients, we are not able to feature all of the products we have designed and manufactured. The projects shown here are ones we have permission to share. We will be adding more as permissions are granted over time.
The Kindling Collector
From first-time inventor to product in market.
The Challenge
Donald Hillis had a genuinely good product idea: a tool that holds a piece of firewood in place while you split it into kindling, so the wood does not fly off the block and can be carried inside as a bundle when you are done. The idea was clear. The path to making it was not.
Donald had never manufactured a product before. He did not know what steps came next, what challenges he would face, or how to navigate them. He had a great idea but no roadmap.
What We Did
Pro-Dev took Donald’s concept and worked with him through every stage of development. We designed the product in 3D CAD, applied technical expertise to refine and improve it through multiple iterations, and managed the manufacturing process through to final production. Donald was kept involved throughout, sharing ideas through images, calls, and footage from the factory floor so he could see his product taking shape in real time.
We did not just manufacture what Donald handed us. We helped design it, improve it, and make it better than the original concept. Pro-Dev continues to manage the manufacturing of the Kindling Collector.
The Outcome
The Kindling Collector is in market. Donald describes the final product as durable, professional, and beyond what he expected. Pulling it out of the box for the first time, feeling the weight, seeing the packaging, and holding the finished product exceeded every expectation he had when he started.
Thanks to Pro-Dev I have got my product out to market. Couldn't have done it without them.

Beachy Bum
The world's first outdoor baby bouncer, designed, patented, and manufactured.
The Challenge
Jess Harvey had identified a genuine gap in the market. Most baby bouncers are designed for indoor use only. The materials are not suited to outdoor conditions and they are not built for the beach, the park, or anywhere families actually want to go. Jess wanted to create the Beachy Bum: the world’s first baby bouncer designed specifically for outdoor use, built to help families get outside with young children no matter their age or location.
Jess came to Pro-Dev with a concept. The engineering, the refined design, and the path to market were all ahead of her.
What We Did
Pro-Dev took Jess’s original concept and transformed it into a product that is sleek, refined, and genuinely manufacturable. What Jess came in with and what the final product became are worlds apart: the engineering challenge of making a bouncer that sits elevated, folds down compactly, and performs in outdoor conditions required significant design and engineering work from the ground up.
We handled the full journey. Design and industrial engineering to bring the concept to life. IP strategy, working with Jess’s patent attorney to protect the product before it went anywhere near a factory. And manufacturing, managing production through our own supply chain to get the Beachy Bum into market.
Communication was open and continuous throughout. Jess could contact Pro-Dev directly at any point and always felt in control of her own product.
The Outcome
The Beachy Bum is live, patented, and in market as the world’s first baby bouncer designed specifically for outdoor use. The product has IP protection in place and is being manufactured through Pro-Dev’s supply chain. Before engaging Pro-Dev, Jess had reached out to multiple companies and found none of them confident or convincing. Pro-Dev gave her the confidence, the design expertise, and the manufacturing capability to get there.
Before engaging with ProDev I felt very overwhelmed. When I reached out to ProDev they were literally everything I was looking for and more.

Wind Protection Product
Structured development after years of false starts with other firms.
The Challenge
Terry Johnson had been working on a wind protection product for Wellington for longer than he wanted. He had worked with several other product development firms before Pro-Dev. Each one started well. Then the momentum faded, communication slowed, and the gaps between development stages dragged out. As a smaller investor, Terry felt his project was not getting the attention it deserved.
He needed a partner who would stay focused, communicate consistently, and keep things moving.
What We Did
Pro-Dev brought structure and momentum to a project that had stalled. We implemented a weekly reporting and update cycle so Terry always knew what was happening and what came next. We also identified a fundamental problem with one of the core design concepts and redesigned it completely, putting the project back on track rather than continuing down a path that would not have worked.
Terry described working with Pro-Dev as having three specialists with different areas of expertise all focused on his project simultaneously, covering angles he had not considered and making him feel like his project mattered regardless of its size.
The Outcome
Terry’s wind protection product is in active development and on track for a fully working prototype. After years of slow progress with other firms, the project is moving again. Terry has signed up for the next phase of development and is meeting with the Pro-Dev team weekly.
My optimism certainly has risen. We are back on track. I am looking forward to continuing with Pro-Dev.
