Many people who contact us for the first time are nervous. They have an idea they have been sitting on for months or years, they are not sure how much it will cost, and they are worried about sharing it with someone they do not know yet.
We understand that. Here is exactly what happens in a first consultation with Pro-Dev, what to prepare, and what you will come away with.
Before the Consultation
We sign our Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Undertaking before any discussions begin. You can download it from our website before you contact us, but it takes effect automatically from your first consultation. Your idea is protected before you share anything.
There is nothing you need to prepare in detail. Bring whatever you have: a sketch on a napkin, a prototype, a reference product, or just an idea in your head. We have worked with all of these.
During the Consultation
The first consultation is 30 minutes. We will ask you questions about your product idea, your market, your target customer, and your goals. We want to understand what you are trying to achieve, not just what you want to build.
We will also ask practical questions: What is your target retail price? Have you researched whether a similar product already exists? What markets are you planning to sell in? Do you have a sense of how many units you expect to sell in the first year?
You do not need to have answers to all of these. The point is to understand where you are and what you need.
After the Consultation
After the consultation, we will give you an honest assessment of your project: what we think is feasible, what the development path looks like, and a realistic sense of the investment required. We will tell you if we think there are significant risks or challenges you have not considered.
If there is a fit between what you need and what we do, we will propose next steps. If we are not the right fit for your project, we will tell you that too. We would rather refer you elsewhere than take on a project where we cannot add genuine value.
There is no hard sell. The consultation is genuinely free and genuinely no obligation.
